It looks like the pandemic spiked interest in indie podcasting. In 2020, Acast reports an increase in sign-ups to its podcast hosting platform of more than 75%, reflecting an influx of indie talent choosing podcasting — many of them picking up the mic for the first time. Medium reports that Acast interviews three podcasters who achieved success during the pandemic.
