iHeartRadio Music Awards Wins Coveted Webby People’s Voice Award.

The Webby Awards are known as the internet’s highest honor and for the first time the Webby People’s Voice Award in the Events: Social category has gone to iHeartRadio. Presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, the award recognizes the work iHeart’s social media team did to promote the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

While a 2000+ member judging body chooses a winner for each category, a public vote from the online community decides the coveted People’s Voice Award winner. In this case iHeartRadio received 2.5 million votes, competing against 13,000 entries from all 50 U.S. states and 70 countries. A Webby People’s Voice award is achieved by only the top 4% of all entered work.

It’s the first Webby win for iHeartRadio, which has been an Honoree 10 times and a Nominee four times.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards has grown into a social media juggernaut, generating 310 billion social impressions and trending No. 1 worldwide and No. 1 in the U.S. when they were last held March 14, 2019.

Established in 1996 during the web’s infancy, The Webbys is presented by IADAS, comprised of executive members—leading internet experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities—and associate members who are former Webby winners, nominees and other internet professionals.
