iHeartMedia Teams With Global Gaming League For Podcast Partnership.

iHeartMedia is expanding its presence in gaming culture through a new production, marketing and distribution partnership with the Global Gaming League (GGL). The agreement positions iHeart as the league’s official audio partner and will include the development of original podcasts and weekly programming centered on gaming, culture and entertainment.

Through the deal, the companies will co-create podcasts that will be distributed across iHeartMedia’s multiplatform audio network, bringing gaming-focused content to a broader audience. The partnership also plans to tap into GGL’s relationships with celebrity team owners and influencers to help amplify programming and extend its reach across gaming, music, sports and entertainment communities.

“Gaming is culture,” said Clinton Sparks, founder and CEO of Global Gaming League, who began his career at iHeartRadio. “iHeart understands that its artists, talent and listeners are gamers. This partnership brings that reality to the forefront and connects it with a league built to unite gaming, music, fashion, sports and celebrity in a unique way that seamlessly brings these worlds together.”

As part of the agreement, Sparks will launch a new podcast titled “Get Familiar,” which will debut later this year through iHeartPodcasts. The show is expected to feature conversations with celebrities, cultural figures and industry leaders, with Sparks offering commentary and interviews focused on gaming, culture and broader entertainment trends.

Nick Ditri, Vice President of Business Development and Music at Global Gaming League, said the partnership helps deepen the connection between gaming communities and mainstream audio audiences.

“iHeartRadio is where culture breaks first, and gaming now sits at the center of that culture,” Ditri said. “Having a true audio presence allows us to spotlight creators, tell player stories and make gaming feel more human and more accessible. This partnership doesn’t just expand reach, it deepens connection and that’s what brings casual audiences into the fold and builds long-term community around both GGL and iHeartRadio.”

Michael Biondo, President of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships for iHeartMedia, said the collaboration reflects the company’s continued effort to integrate gaming into mainstream media platforms.

“Together, iHeart and GGL are creating a new blueprint for how gaming lives inside mainstream culture—bringing competitive gaming to listeners and new fans nationwide by introducing them directly into the Global Gaming League ecosystem,” Biondo said.

“Get Familiar” will be distributed by iHeartPodcasts and will be available on the iHeartRadio app and other podcast platforms later this year.
