iHeartMedia is turning to one of its own to lead a key Southern market cluster, naming Leon Williamson as Market President for the company’s Memphis and Tupelo stations.

In his new role, Williamson will oversee all operations across the Memphis and Tupelo markets, including strategic partnerships, sales and programming initiatives for iHeart’s portfolio of brands in the region.

“Leon brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in our industry,” Kristy Beebe, Area President for iHeartMedia Kentucky/Memphis, said in a news release. “His leadership and vision will be instrumental in driving our continued growth and success in the Memphis and Tupelo markets.”

Williamson makes the move from Indianapolis, where he most recently served as Market President and previously held the post of Senior VP of Sales. Beebe added that Williamson’s strong community ties and passion for service were also key factors in the appointment.

“Leon is not only a seasoned professional but also a dedicated supporter of the community,” she said. “His strategic approach to market challenges makes him the perfect fit for this role.”

For his part, Williamson called the move a “thrilling” opportunity. “Joining Memphis’ vibrant market and Tupelo’s exceptional community is an amazing opportunity,” he said. “I’m absolutely thrilled to work with iHeart’s iconic and heritage brands, enhancing their legacy of connection and community.”
