iHeartMedia is reshaping its Markets Group structure with a series of leadership appointments designed to strengthen local operations, community ties, and business growth. Recently installed President of Markets Group and Sales Operations, Ann Marie Licata, announced that John Karpinski has been elevated to President, iHeartMedia Community Markets, where he will oversee the division with Shosh Abromovich reporting to him as Division President. Karpinski will report to COO Markets Group Bernie Weiss.
The moves are part of a broader restructuring aimed at better aligning resources to meet marketplace needs while reinforcing iHeart’s long-standing community presence. “John and Shosh bring a unique mix of experience, passion, and forward-thinking leadership,” Licata said, noting their ability to leverage technology, training, and collaboration to strengthen community and partner relationships.
Other key leadership changes include the creation of a new Midwest & Southeast Division, to be led by veteran iHeart executive Dave Carwile. The 33-year company veteran will oversee markets including the Carolina Majors, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Cincinnati, and St. Louis. Carwile is credited with consistent revenue and EBITDA growth across a wide range of markets during his career.
Meanwhile, Aaron Hyland has been tapped as Division President overseeing Washington, DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, and Hartford. He will work closely with Steve DeLusant, Region President of New York, to build out the Northeast Division. Hyland previously transformed iHeart’s DC and Baltimore sales teams by implementing a process-driven approach focused on developmental business.
As part of the realignment, the Chicago region will move under the West & Great Lakes Division led by Kris Foley, while iHeart Atlanta will shift into the Florida+ Division overseen by Chris Soechtig.
Departing the company as a result of the changes are Dan Lankford and DJ Hodge. Licata thanked both for their contributions and wished them success in their future endeavors.
