iHeartMedia closes on its $2 million purchase of four Atlantic City-Cape May, NJ market stations from Gary Fisher’s Equity Communications. As iHeartMedia enters the market, the company makes some on-air lineup tweaks to each station.
The local “Mike & Diane” morning show comprised of Mike Kelso and Diane Mitchell remains on hot AC WAYV (95.1) from 6-10am followed by iHeartMedia national hosts Katie Sommers (10am-2pm), Elizabethany (2-7pm), and EJ (7-11pm).
Classic rock WZXL (100.7) also retains its local “JoJo & Scotty” morning show, followed by KTBZ Houston-based Theresa (10am-3pm), while PD Steve Raymond moves from 12-6pm to 3-7pm. Nights are covered by WDVE Pittsburgh’s Chad Tyson (7pm-12am).
Urban AC WTTH (96.1) keeps the Premiere Networks-syndicated “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” in AM drive and adds hosts to what was a jockless presentation under Equity Communications. Middays are hosted by Bioncé Foxx and afternoons feature Joe Soto, both based at WVAZ Chicago. The Premiere Networks-syndicated “Sweat Hotel” is plugged into nights.
The former jockless rhythmic CHR “99.3 The Buzz” WZBZ adds national host Frankie V in middays (10am-3pm), Chino in afternoons (3-7pm), and the Yea Networks-syndicated “Tino Cochino Radio” in nights (7-12am).
Through a series of four deals, Equity Communications has been paring down its radio holdings in Atlantic City. Educational Media Foundation closed a $70,000 deal to purchase WEZW (94.1). Equity also sold what is now talk “Fine Day Radio” WNJD (102.3) in a $120,000 deal with Mighty Voice Broadcasting. WCMC (1230) and WMID (1340) are in the process of being purchased by Rick Brancadora for $50,000. When the WCMC/WMID deal closes, it will mark an exit from radio ownership for Fisher.
