iHeartMedia is back for a 12th year as the Global Citizen Festival’s exclusive U.S. audio partner. In addition to broadcasting performances from the New York concert by featured artists, iHeart has launched Global Citizen Radio on the app, featuring music from past and present festival performers. Premiere Networks, meanwhile, will offer all headline performances to radio stations worldwide.
In addition to broadcasting performances by this year’s featured artists — including Post Malone, Doja Cat, and Jelly Roll — on iHeartRadio stations from the Sept. 28 show on Central Park’s Great Lawn, iHeart has launched Global Citizen Radio on the app, featuring music from past and present festival performers, along with the latest news and information leading up to the show.
Additionally, iHeart’s Premiere Networks will offer all headline performances from the Global Citizen Festival to international radio stations worldwide.
Started in 2012 by international advocacy organization Global Citizen, this year’s event will be hosted by actor and Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman. Also appearing will be Coldplay’s Chris Martin, the festival’s curator since 2015, along with Jane Goodall Institute founder and UN Messenger of Peace, Dr. Jane Goodall.
“For over a decade, iHeart and Global Citizen have partnered to encourage citizens to take action in the movement to end extreme poverty by using their powerful collective voice to advocate for change,” iHeartMedia President of Entertainment Enterprises John Sykes says. “iHeart is once again bringing the Global Citizen Festival from Central Park into thousands of communities — both in the U.S. and globally — to ensure that millions of people are inspired to take action.”
