Cox Media Group’s bilingual AC “Hits 96.5” WOEX Orlando is adding a new twist to holiday programming with the launch of its first-ever bilingual Christmas format. Beginning Friday, Nov. 21 at 5pm, the station will air wall-to-wall Christmas favorites in English, hosted and presented by its Spanish-speaking airstaff. The format will run through Christmas Day, returning to the station’s regular playlist on Dec. 26.

The station says listeners can expect a mix of nostalgic holiday hits from Mariah Carey, Wham!, José Feliciano, Michael Bublé, Kelly Clarkson and Madonna, delivered with the station’s signature Spanish-language flair.

“The holidays are a special time in Central Florida, and we’re excited to bring that bilingual festive spirit to the airwaves,” said Raymond Hernandez, Director of Programming and Branding. “Our Christmas format is all about family, joy and the music that connects our community while sharing the message en Español.”

The temporary format will also feature several enhancements, including a commercial-free run from 7pm Christmas Eve to 7pm Christmas Day, bilingual webpages featuring Hispanic holiday traditions and recipes, and an online showcase of Orlando’s most decorated homes.
