Different than other awards shows, the International Women’s Podcast Awards honors exceptional “moments” of audio brilliance. Now in its fifth year, they recognize the contributions made by podcasters who are self-taught and producing shows solo, as well as those part of larger teams at established audio companies.
IWPA organizers also say that more than a third of entries took advantage of the Bursary Fund, which helps podcasters cover the costs of both entering the competition and paying for tickets to the awards show. This year it was financially supported by BBC Sounds, Amazon Music and Wondery.
