Gator Harrison is leaving iHeartMedia after more than a decade as Senior VP of Programming to become Chief Media Officer at K-Love, Inc., overseeing the K-Love and Air1 radio networks, live events and partnerships. He starts May 11.
The move takes one of country radio's most prominent programming executives out of the format. At iHeart, Harrison oversaw broadcast, streaming, digital, social media and live events and won multiple ACM and CMA awards. His radio career spans nearly 40 years, with roles including Program Director, Operations Director and on-air personality dating to 1986.
Harrison founded Believers, a ministry serving and discipling music industry professionals, in 2015. He framed the K-Love role as a convergence of his programming career and his faith.
"I dedicated my life to Jesus in 1995 and prayed that He would allow me to do what I love, where I love, all for His glory," Harrison said in a release. "I am deeply grateful to iHeartMedia for their support and investment in my journey."
K-Love CEO Tom Stultz said Harrison's "blend of expertise, coupled with the industry connections and ministry work he so loves, will enhance our mission and further position K-Love ato inspire people to move closer to Jesus."
