Frasier Star Kelsey Grammer To Receive Giants Of Broadcasting Honor.

The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation has selected Kelsey Grammer as one of its 2026 Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts, honoring his wide-ranging contributions to television, film and theater.

Grammer headlines the previously announced honorees that also includes Deborah Norville, Jane Pauley, Jaime Jarrín, Suzyn Waldman, Debra OConnell, David Donovan, Skip Finley and David Santrella—a group recognized for shaping the modern media landscape.

A defining figure in entertainment, Grammer is best known for his portrayal of Dr. Frasier Crane across “Cheers,” “Wings” and “Frasier,” a role he played for two decades before reprising it in the recent revival on Paramount+. His performance as Frasier became one of television’s most enduring characters, anchoring multiple hit series and earning widespread critical acclaim.

Over his career, the Juilliard-trained actor has collected six Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes and a Screen Actors Guild Award, along with numerous nominations across major industry honors. Beyond television, Grammer has built a substantial body of work in film, including roles in “X-Men: The Last Stand” and “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” and has voiced Sideshow Bob on “The Simpsons” since 1990.

His stage career includes Broadway appearances in productions such as “La Cage aux Folles” and Shakespearean roles, underscoring his versatility as a performer. Grammer has also made his mark as a producer through Grammnet NH Productions, with credits including “Medium” and “The Game,” as well as involvement in the “Frasier” reboot.

The 2026 Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts Awards will be held Nov. 17 at Gotham Hall in New York City, with Juju Chang serving as emcee. The event celebrates individuals whose work has had a lasting impact on broadcasting and electronic arts.

In addition, the Museum of Broadcast Communications will receive the LABF Excellence in Broadcast Preservation Award, recognizing its role in safeguarding the industry’s history.
