Dr. Laura Puts Her California Compound On The Market.

Veteran radio personality “Dr. Laura” Schlessinger is putting up for sale her 3.75-acre gated estate in the Campanil Hill enclave of Santa Barbara, CA, which she’s called home for the last 20 years. The asking price: $23 million.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the 78-year-old Schlessinger — a marriage, family and child counselor who gives advice on her live SiriusXM show, “Dr. Laura” — plans to move to a smaller home nearby.

Schlessinger bought the home with her late husband for $6.1 million in 2005, according to records cited by the newspaper. The compound was listed for $22.9 million in 2021 and went into contract, but the deal fell apart.

The property overlooks the ocean and features a six-bedroom main house that’s 8,800 square feet. There’s also a one-bedroom guesthouse used as a studio and another building that includes a gym and guest suite.

On the main level of the primary residence, there’s an Old West-style billiards room with wood-paneled walls, a wet bar, and vaulted ceilings. The property also features extensive landscaping, a pickleball court, a koi pond with waterfalls, a tennis court, an outdoor swimming pool, and a quarter-mile walking trail around the property. The property also has two docks.

Schlessinger, who was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2018, hosts The Dr. Laura Program on Sirius XM Radio. The show airs for three hours each weekday.

She’s not the only notable radio talent who has been active in real estate as of late. Sean Hannity recently purchased a waterfront estate in Palm Beach County for $23.5 million, and Ryan Seacrest bought a renovated 1920s estate in the Bel-Air neighborhood of Los Angeles for $36 million.
