Doug Abernethy to Leave Audacy, Marking Another Key Exec Departure.

Another executive departs Audacy as Regional President Doug Abernethy will step down in May. The long-time company executive earlier served as VP/Market Manager of then-Entercom’s South Florida radio stations.

“I am writing to share that my last day with Audacy will be May 9,” Abernethy said in a memo to staff. “It has been a privilege to work alongside you during the past ten-plus years with the company and, for some, my thirty-six years in the industry. Each market, team, and person I have had the pleasure to work with has made a lasting impression on me. I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished together and confident in your continued success.”

Before joining Entercom in 2015, Abernethy was Regional VP for Radio One Texas.

His exit follows the departures of Chief Operating Officer Susan Larkin, Chief Digital Officer J.D. Crowley, Chief Marketing Officer Paul Suchman, and Executive Vice President and General Counsel Andrew Sutor earlier this month.

Their exits came as Kelli Turner was officially named President/CEO of Audacy. Turner had served as Interim President and CEO since January, when former President and CEO David Field stepped down. With Turner’s announcement, the company named Chris Oliviero Chief Business Officer, and Bob Philips was named Chief Revenue Officer.

Chief Revenue Officer Brian Benedik and CFO Rich Schmaeling also exited in recent months.
