Don Boyd Promoted To Oversee Five Cumulus Markets.

Cumulus Media has expanded the leadership responsibilities of longtime executive Don Boyd, promoting him to Regional Vice President with oversight of the company’s stations in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and New Orleans, LA, as well as Columbus-Starkville, MS.

Boyd will continue to oversee Cumulus’ Mobile, AL, cluster and its radio and digital operations, bringing his responsibilities to five markets across the Gulf South. The expanded role also includes a planned relocation to Baton Rouge.

The promotion marks another step in Boyd’s 25-year career with the company. Since 2023, he has served as Regional Vice President and Market Manager overseeing the company’s Mobile, AL, Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola, FL, operations.

Boyd joined Cumulus in 2001 as General Sales Manager for the company’s Nashville cluster before serving as Vice President of Advertising for Dickey Publishing from 2008 to 2010. He returned to Cumulus in 2014 as General Sales Manager in Atlanta and was promoted to Vice President/Market Manager for Mobile in 2018. His responsibilities expanded in 2023 when he became Regional Vice President overseeing Mobile, Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola.

“We are excited to expand Don’s role in the region,” President of Operations Bob Walker said in the announcement. “He is an accomplished leader that helps markets focus on how to help clients grow their business with unique partnerships with our brands and our digital solutions. We are eager to see the impact he will have on the broader region.”

Boyd said he is looking forward to taking on the expanded assignment.

“We’ve got top-performing radio stations, strong digital capabilities, and a great team in place,” he said. “Looking forward to relocating to Baton Rouge and getting to work across these markets.”

Under Boyd’s expanded oversight are four-station clusters in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, New Orleans and Columbus-Starkville, in addition to Cumulus’ five-station Mobile operation.
