Dax Shepard’s ‘Armchair Expert’ Podcast Goes To Wondery In $80M Deal.


Amazon’s Wondery has inked a deal to handle distribution and ad sales for Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, The Hollywood Reporter says.


The deal is valued at an estimated $80 million, THR said.


The agreement also calls for the development of two new podcasts, in addition to a first-look deal for future podcasts and plans to host livestreams. Video episodes of the podcast are also part of the deal.


“I could not be more excited about making Wondery our home,” Shepard said in a statement. “Jen Sargent and her team have created a brand that imbues quality, daring and creativity. The Wondery logo actually means something. They are the HBO of the podcast space. We are extremely excited to join forces and bring fresh new content to listeners around the world.”


Armchair Expert, co-hosted by Shepard and Monica Padman, had been exclusively with Spotify since 2021.

The podcast features Shepard and Padman interviewing an array of people, from celebrities and scientists to authors and artists.
