The Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFOA) is set to host its annual Media Mixer on Thursday, June 25, bringing together broadcasting executives, on-air talent and rising industry professionals for one of radio’s signature networking events.
The gathering will take place from 5:30-7:30pm ET at the New York studios of iHeartMedia, located at 125 West 55th Street in Manhattan.
Known throughout the industry as both a networking and outreach event, the Media Mixer is designed to connect emerging broadcasters with veteran executives and personalities while raising awareness for the foundation’s charitable mission of providing financial assistance to broadcasters facing critical hardship.
This year’s event will feature longtime radio executive Dan Mason, who is expected to meet attendees and discuss highlights from his decades-long career that spanned on-air work and executive leadership, including his tenure overseeing CBS Radio. Mason is also the author of the memoir “Fearless: The Life & Times of A Media Maverick.”
Hosting the evening will be Maxwell, heard in afternoon drive on iHeartMedia rhythmic CHR WKTU (103.5), while singer Carolina Rial will provide a live performance following her recent appearance on The Voice.
“The Broadcasters Foundation’s Media Mixers have become one of the most important gatherings for the future of our industry, bringing together rising broadcast professionals, influential executives, and legendary broadcasters in one room,” BFOA President Tim McCarthy said in announcing the event.
“Broadcasting is built on relationships, mentorship, and community, and this event captures the very best of what makes our business so special while also supporting broadcasters facing critical need,” McCarthy added.
The Media Mixer series has grown into one of the foundation’s most visible outreach initiatives, particularly among younger professionals seeking connections and mentorship opportunities within the radio and television business.
The Broadcasters Foundation of America provides aid to broadcasters and broadcast professionals dealing with severe financial hardship caused by illness, natural disasters, accidents or other personal emergencies. The organization has long positioned its networking events as both industry gatherings and opportunities to support colleagues in need.
Admission is free, but registration is required.
