Cumulus Media Sells Two FMs To Radio Training Network.

Radio Training Network (RTN) is expanding its station portfolio with the acquisition of two FMs from Cumulus Media for $2.05 million.

The deal calls for RTN to acquire classic rock “98.3 The Keg” KKEG Bentonville/Fayetteville, AR, and classic rock “I-95” WIXV Savannah, GA. The transaction will mark RTN’s entry into Arkansas.

RTN already operates Christian AC “His Radio” WLFS (91.9) in the Savannah market. WIXV’s Class C1 signal will provide the organization with a larger FM signal in the market.

The transaction is the second deal between Cumulus and RTN in recent months. In May, Cumulus agreed to sell “Nash Icon 93.3” WWFF Huntsville, AL, “100.5 The Game” WWFN Florence, SC and classic hip-hop “OG 97.9” W250BC Atlanta to RTN for $2.45 million.

Beyond “His Radio,” Radio Training Network operates the Christian “Joy FM” network across Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee, along with two stations in the Springfield, MO, market.

In Savannah, Cumulus will continue to own country “Kix 96” WJCL-FM, adult R&B “Magic 103.9” WTYB and hip-hop “E93” WEAS-FM.

In the Fayetteville Northwest Arkansas market, Cumulus will retain six stations: sports “92.1 The Ticket” KQSM, classic country “94.3 Nash Icon” KAMO-FM, adult alternative “94.9 Radio Jon/Deek” KRMW, CHR “Power 105.7” KMCK, talk KFAY (1030) and sports “The Ticket 2” KYNG (1590).

The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.
