Max has renewed Conan O’Brien’s podcast-inspired TV series for a third season. The “Conan O’Brien Must Go” travelogue was launched originally as a way for the host to meet listeners of his Conan O’Brien Needs A Fan lockdown-era podcast around the world.

“Working with Conan and his team on Conan O’Brien Must Go is the trip of a lifetime,” says Nina Rosenstein, Executive VP of HBO Programming for Late Night & Specials. “They’re annoyingly brilliant and no one can make locals feel as deeply uncomfortable in their own country as Conan can… this season in lederhosen!”

The third season renewal announcement comes ahead of its season two debut in May, which will take O’Brien to countries including New Zealand, Austria and Spain.

The podcast was born during the pandemic lockdowns in 2021. It featured O’Brien and co-hosts Sona Movsesian and Matt Gourley taking questions via Zoom calls with fans. The travel series “Conan O’Brien Must Go” now features O’Brien showing up to visit them face-to-face. The television series is produced by O’Brien’s Conaco with O’Brien and Jeff Ross — his longtime producer — both serving as executive producers, along with his production company Conaco.
