Colorado Community Radio Station Generates More Than $60,000 In Donations.

It was a successful 2025 fundraising drive for Fraser Valley Community Media, which surpassed its $60,000 goal in support of variety KFFR (88.3) Winter Park, CO, as well as a new local news station, KWTR (89.1).

The fundraiser’s final day was Sunday, June 29, but as of Wednesday, July 2, the broadcaster’s tally was pushing $67,000. The total was bolstered by donation matches provided by several local businesses, reports Ski-Hi News, which serves Grand County, CO, which is located in the north-central portion of the state.

“We deeply appreciate the incredible support you’ve shown already,” Fraser Valley Community Media wrote on its donation page. “The money raised up to now is funding our day-to-day operations — powering everything from youth programming and public affairs shows to new DJ trainings, updated equipment, staff salaries, and all the local content you love.”

Earlier this year, the KFFR signal was expanded to listeners in Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, and Kremmling, providing local news, music, emergency alerts, and community voices.

KFFR, which is run by volunteers, has more than five dozen DJs who play music throughout the week. The station also highlights local musicians and promotes businesses in Grand County.
