Morning radio personalities often draw on their own lives to connect with listeners, but Carla Marie is taking it a step further. The veteran radio host is launching a new podcast called My Breast Explant Journey, which will share her recent health complications and her decision to undergo breast explant surgery.
“I publicly shared the entire process of getting implants when I was a member of ‘Elvis Duran and the Morning Show’ in 2013, so it only felt right to share the process of removing them,” says Carla Marie. “So many women are sick with Breast Implant Illness symptoms. I am hoping to shed light on this issue and help women understand they are not alone.”
In the podcast, Carla Marie walks listeners through the process, from the initial considerations and consultations to the emotional and physical challenges of recovery. With candid conversations, expert interviews, and heartfelt reflections, she aims to provide a platform for open dialogue, education, empowerment, and advocacy.
My Breast Explant Journey will be released in the feed of The Morning Show Podcast, the daily 20-minute series that Carla Marie hosts with Anthony. The duo rose from cast members of “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” to the morning hosts at iHeartMedia CHR KBKS Seattle (106.1) until they exited the station in April 2021. Since then, they’ve been hosting the podcast, which is distributed by Gemini XIII. It will also distribute the My Breast Explant Journey podcast.
