Beasley Media Group Augusta Operations Manager and country “Kicks 99” WKXC-FM Program Director and on-air personality Tee Gentry has retired from his full-time roles after 30 years with the company.
Gentry’s final day was July 31. During his three decades with Beasley, he held leadership and programming positions in multiple markets, helping shape station strategies, develop talent and build relationships with listeners and local communities.
In Augusta, Gentry provided operational leadership for Beasley’s cluster while overseeing programming for “Kicks 99” and maintaining an on-air presence at the country station.
Gentry will remain involved with Beasley’s Augusta operations as a consultant. His responsibilities will include advising on the market’s programming strategy, as well as supporting the annual “Kicks 99 Guitar Pull” and community relations initiatives.
Chris O’Kelley will serve as interim Program Director for “Kicks 99” while continuing as the station’s midday host. Cody will expand her on-air duties to include afternoon drive.
“Tee Gentry’s commitment to Beasley Media Group, our stations and the communities he has served over the past 30 years has been nothing short of exceptional,” said AJ Lurie, Vice President and Market Manager of Beasley Media Group Augusta. “His leadership, passion for country radio and dedication to mentoring talent have left a lasting impact on our team and our listeners.”
Lurie added that Gentry’s continued consulting role will allow him to share his experience while helping guide programming strategy, support the Guitar Pull and maintain community relationships during the transition.
The company said it will announce permanent programming leadership plans for Kicks 99 at a later date.
