Barstool Goes Big With Fox Sports Deal Covering Gamedays And FS1 Morning Show.

Barstool Sports is heading for television. The podcast producer confirms it is linking up with Fox Sports on a wide-ranging collaboration deal that looks to bolster coverage around college football, college basketball and other Fox Sports properties, including creating unique content with a new daily morning show on FS1 produced by Barstool.

“This is the first time in our illustrious and notorious history that we’ve got a TV partner we believe in and believes in us,” Barstool Sports Founder Dave Portnoy says in a social media post. “I can’t wait to see what we create together.” Barstool briefly worked with ESPN in 2017.

Portnoy will become a regular contributor to the “Big Noon Kickoff” show when college football season begins this fall. The show will also include appearances from a variety of Barstool personalities — including Dan Katz, widely known as “Big Cat.”

Barstool is also creating a new video-centric show called “The Barstool College Football Show.” It will air across Barstool-owned channels from 9 to 9:45am (ET) as well as across Fox platforms including Tubi, the Fox Sports App and Foxsports.com, and will feature appearances from Fox Sports talent. “The Barstool College Football Show” will also join the “Big Noon Kickoff” show on-location for select games throughout the college football season.

Ahead of the 2025-26 season, Barstool Sports is also set to contribute to Fox Sports’ college basketball coverage, including the College Basketball Crown — a postseason tournament launched by the TV network last year.

“We’re excited to welcome Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports to the Fox Sports family,” says Fox Sports CEO Eric Shanks. “Dave has built a one-of-a-kind brand that connects with a new generation of sports fans — authentic, bold and original. Their unique voice and loyal fanbase makes them a natural fit for our evolving multiplatform content strategy.”

Beyond gameday coverage, Barstool will take a position on Fox Sports’ FS1 network lineup. As part of their alliance, Barstool will produce and deliver a live two-hour program set to air from 8 to 10am (ET) Monday-Friday on FS1, which will feature popular Barstool personalities and Fox Sports talent guest appearances.

“They want a taste of the Barstool world,” Portnoy said during an appearance on The Unnamed Show podcast, revealing he will host the Monday show.

No launch date or specific hosts have been announced. But the companies say it creates an opportunity for both brands to grow their reach, deepen engagement and deliver even more to viewers.

Barstool and Fox Sports say they will also collaborate on digital content that will appeal to sports fans beyond the game, to include lifestyle and internet culture topics. Barstool will work with Fox Sports Digital to co-produce shows and content featuring talent from both companies.

The alliance with Fox Sports is the biggest move by Portnoy since he sold the company for $550 million to casino operator Penn Entertainment in 2020, only to buy it back for one dollar three years later.

“Everybody at Barstool is super excited to partner with the Fox Sports Family,” Portnoy said in the joint announcement. “In our two-decade history, we’ve never had the chance to work with so much talent and resources. We can’t wait to collab and bring our voice to Fox Sports’ airwaves.”
