Audiochuck Names Media Veteran Evelyn Webster To Lead Next Growth Phase.

As Audiochuck’s media ambitions continue to grow, the company founded by “Crime Junkie” host Ashley Flowers is bringing onboard a new chief executive. Evelyn Webster has been named CEO of Audiochuck, a move it says marks a “sophisticated new chapter” for Audiochuck as the company accelerates its global footprint and expands its diverse slate of investigative programming.

“As Audiochuck enters its next chapter of growth, Evelyn’s exceptional track record in premium media and community-driven brand building makes her the ideal leader for this moment,” Flowers says in the announcement.

Webster replaces Matt Starker, the streaming executive who has been leading Audiochuck since April 2025.

In recent months Audiochuck formed an alliance with Red Seat Ventures last October, giving the Fox-owned company distribution and advertising sales rights. That has led to a deal to begin distributing “Crime Junkie” on Fox’s Tubi streaming service with other Audiochuck video podcasts to follow this year, including series like “The Deck,” “So Supernatural,” “Dark Downeast,” and “Park Predators,” among others.

Audiochuck also announced in March that it was launching a new division focused on producing television and film content in a move it says marks the media company’s evolution into a vertically integrated studio. Audiochuck says it plans to not both acquire and develop intellectual property while also adapting its podcast franchises for global streaming video audiences. The new effort will be led by Matt Shanfield, who has been hired as Audiochuck’s first Head of Television and Film.

“Audiochuck was built on the belief that powerful storytelling can drive real-world impact,” Flowers says. “From the beginning, our mission has been to create world-class content, foster an engaged community, and advocate for victims and their families. Evelyn’s leadership and expertise will help us deepen that work, strengthen our editorial excellence, and expand our impact in meaningful ways.”

Webster most recently was CEO of the fitness company SoulCycle since 2020, but her earlier work was in media. Webster served as CEO of Guardian News & Media International from 2017 to 2020, where she orchestrated the media giant’s international expansion and strategic growth across the U.S. and Australia. Earlier, she was Executive VP and Group President at Time Inc., where she oversaw a portfolio of more than 20 consumer and B2B media brands, including Time, Sports Illustrated, Fortune, and InStyle. She began her executive career at IPC Media, where she rose to CEO, spearheading a period of rapid digital transformation.

“Audiochuck has fundamentally redefined the multi-dimensional podcasting landscape by blending world-class storytelling with a profound, real-world mission to effect positive social change,” Webster says in a statement. “I am honored to partner with Ashley and the extraordinary team at Audiochuck to guide this company through its next phase of enterprise growth.”

Webster will join the company in July.
