Dan Bongino first returned to podcasting, and now he is heading back to the radio. Bongino, who rekindled his media relationship with Cumulus earlier this year after leaving as post as FBI Deputy Director, will host a new three-hour weekday radio program alongside Shawn Farash. The series titled “The Bongino Report PM” will be distributed by Cumulus-owned Westwood One beginning next week.
“I’m excited to partner with Shawn to bring listeners a daily program focused on the stories that matter most,” Bongino says in a statement. “Our goal is simple: deliver honest analysis and keep our audience informed and engaged. Radio remains one of the most powerful ways to connect directly with people, and I’m excited to be back on Westwood One.”
Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, launched a podcast in 2017, which was repurposed as a one-hour radio program. He then made his big move on radio in May 2021 via Westwood One. It proved a hit for the company. Cumulus Media CEO Mary Berner repeatedly blamed the loss of “The Dan Bongino Show” for softer revenue when he left his media posts for a job inside the Trump administration.
But Bongino exited the FBI at the end of last year and he returned to podcasting in February with the relaunch of “The Dan Bongino Show.” That show remains as a video livestream on Rumble each weekday from 10am-12pm ET with a recording of the audio then widely available as a podcast.
The new radio show will air from 3-6pm ET, meaning Bongino will be in front of a microphone for many hours a day, so adding a co-host to the radio show will help carry the load. Cumulus Media says in the announcement that it believes Farash’s “energetic style” will work with Bongino’s signature analysis.
“This is an incredible opportunity for me to connect with listeners across the country every day,” Farash says. “Working alongside Dan and the team at Westwood One allows us to bring a fresh, energetic approach to afternoons while staying focused on the stories our audience cares about most.” Farash is a conservative activist and political commentator, who may be best known for an uncanny impression of President Trump.
The first hour of “The Bongino Report PM” will be hosted solo by Farash, offering commentary on the day’s headlines. The second and third hours will feature both Bongino and Farash providing listeners with their perspectives on politics and current events.
“Dan Bongino and Shawn Farash each bring a passionate following, and we are thrilled to offer affiliates a dynamic program that delivers timely content and engages listeners in afternoon drive,” Westwood One President Collin Jones says in the announcement.
“The Bongino Report PM” will debut Monday, Aug. 24. Cumulus hasn’t yet announced any radio stations that will be carrying the program.
