An investment firm that owns Church’s Texas Chicken, Quiznos and Taco Del Mar is making another acquisition in the quick-serve space. High Bluff Capital Partners will assume ownership of 81 Hardee’s restaurant locations formerly operated by Summit Restaurant Holdings. The move follows a court-approved auction process for the assets of Summit Restaurant Group, a former Hardee’s operator. Uber is expanding convenience store delivery options in a new integration with Vroom Delivery. The company, which initially expanded from its core rideshare business into third-party online delivery with the launch of Uber Eats in 2015, is enabling convenience retailers utilizing Vroom Delivery’s back office, inventory and loyalty solutions to take orders from the Uber Eats app. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Miami, Vroom Delivery partners with regional and national chains representing more than 3,000 stores in nearly 40 U.S. states.

Target is planning to build a 180,000-square-foot sortation center in Detroit to support delivery services to the metro area. The facility is slated to be completed in 2024 and will join Target’s other sortation centers across Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Texas... H-E-B has grabbed the top spot in a Food & Wine list highlighting the top supermarkets in the U.S. Food & Wine said it was impressed with the retailer’s wide range of private label offerings, the store’s curbside service and the in-store tortillerias. Wegmans, which finished second, was also applauded for its private label along with its baked goods and prepared foods. Hy-Vee came in third with its homestyle prepared meals and community involvement.
