More than a dozen independent podcast networks will preview new shows, seasons and rising personalities during The X Fronts, the first such event designed specifically for indie podcast networks.
On Thursday, Sept. 24, a full day of virtual presentations aims to “expand your thinking about the possibilities of podcasting.” It is directed toward media buyers, brands and advertisers, and podcast publishers.
Updating Podcast News Daily’s August announcement, among featured podcast personalities for the virtual event: Busy Philipps, host of new podcast “Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best,” Lisa Vanderpump, Danielle Moodie, social media pop phenom mxmtoon, ex-NFLer Chris Long, Touré, TheSkimm’s Carly Zakin, and Headgum’s Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld.
The X Fronts was founded by Scott Newman, whose creative agency work x work has become a go-to agency for audio culture brands—including the campaign I Heard It on NPR, work with Spotify and Sonos, and co-presents with the Hot Pod Summit and On Air Fest in New York City and Los Angeles.
Newly announced presenters include Crooked Media, Talkhouse, Wonder Media Network, Kast Media, Headgum, Lipstick & Vinyl, Qcode, Advertisecast, DCP Entertainment, LockedOn, Multitude Productions, WMN Network and Kerning Cultures Network.
“Aiming to expand thinking about the possibilities and reach of podcasting beyond the handful of well-known networks affiliated with mainstream publishers and broadcasters, The X Fronts will reimagine the traditional multi-day upfront as a dynamic virtual experience reflective of the current moment,” a release offers. It takes places from 10am to 4pm. Registration is HERE.
