Conservative talk show host Larry Elder has rejoined the Salem Radio Network.
Elder first joined Salem in 2015 then left in 2021 for an unsuccessful bid to challenge California Gov. Gavin Newsom in the state’s recall election. After his failed gubernatorial run, Elder returned to Salem Radio Network but stepped down six months later and attempted to secure the Republican nomination for President. Elder dropped out of the race in October 2023 and has most recently hosted a program for Epoch Times.
Elder reunites with the network to host 6-9pm (ET), the same daypart he previously hosted for Salem. His show will be simulcast on the Salem News Channel and his podcast “Larry Elder — We’ve Got A Country To Save,” will be placed on the Salem Podcast Network, which will now handle sales and marketing for the on-demand program.
“Larry is one of a rare breed who actually grew in popularity and influence after he departed the radio,” Senior VP of Spoken Word Phil Boyce said in a news release. “Now we get to hear his sage words of wisdom daily on radio stations across the country, on Salem News Channel, and the Salem Podcast Network.”
Elder, who bumps Brandon Tatum from the evenings on the network, added, “By popular demand, the watchman returns to his post.”
“I started doing radio because I was inspired by Larry, so when the opportunity arose for Larry to come back to the radio, I was honored to make room for him like he did for me a few years ago,” Tatum remarked. “You will still be able to hear me on my YouTube channel, and everywhere else, and I will continue to be a fan of Larry Elder.”
