The “iHeartRadio Jingle Ball” is going virtual this year with artists performing their hits and never-before-heard covers of holiday songs from their homes on Thursday, Dec. 10 beginning at 9pm (ET) and broadcast on 95 iHeartMedia CHR stations nationwide. The star-studded event will include Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Lewis Capaldi, Sam Smith and Shawn Mendes, with more artists to be announced.
The holiday concert will also stream live on the iHeartRadio app, the CW app and CWTV.com. The CW Network will broadcast the event as an exclusive nationwide TV special on Monday, Dec. 14 at 8pm. The network will also televise a one-hour “iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Greatest Moments” special, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the concert through performances, special backstage moments and other highlights on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 8pm (ET).
“For 25 years, iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball has showcased performances from the year’s biggest artists in hit music, live on stage in front of screaming fans,” Tom Poleman, iHeartMedia Chief Programming Officer said in a release. “Because of the pandemic, we’re moving from the stage to the artists home this holiday season for what will be an unforgettable show with amazing performances and moments that can only happen at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball.”
One of iHeartMedia’s signature live events, the holiday concert road show has traditionally made stops in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Washington, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Tampa and additional markets over the years. Tickets are usually sold out in minutes.
“This year, the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball shows its resiliency by giving music fans a rare opportunity to go inside the homes of the biggest artists of the year for a special look at how they celebrate the holidays and hear them perform the most listened to songs of the year,” John Sykes, iHeartMedia President of Entertainment Enterprises added. “And, as always they can listen nationwide on their favorite iHeartRadio stations and see it all on The CW Network.”
Ahead of the 9pm kickoff of Jingle Ball, participating iHeartMedia stations will air a customized 30-minute pre-show special hosted by local on-air personalities. For the sixth straight year, Capital One will be the national presenting partner for the “iHeartRadio Jingle Ball.”
