Numerous research studies have demonstrated radio’s ability to drive listeners online to seek out information about a product or service they heard advertised on the air. That’s one reason why online employment services Indeed and ZipRecruiter have made radio a key component in their marketing plans. Both of the online job sites ranked in the top five advertisers based on spot volume for the week of April 11-17.
Indeed continues to dominate the category with 73,764 spot occurrences, perched at the top of the Media Monitors Top 100 like it has for most of the year. That’s nearly twice as many detections as for rival ZipRecruiter, which advances 12-4 for its highest ranking yet. ZipRecruiter has finished in the top 10 for most of 2022, including the past four weeks in the top five.
Just ahead of ZipRecruiter with 38,178 ads is GetUpside at No. 3. That’s the highest rank for the digital platform that personalizes brick-and-mortar commerce since the week of Dec. 27, 2021- Jan. 2, 2022, when it finished at No. 2. GetUpside is one of five Wireless & Internet Service accounts among paid advertisers in the top 100, including Tracfone Wireless’ Straight Talk at No. 15, Reward Zone USA at No. 37, Metro By T-Mobile at No. 50 and AT&T’s DirectTV at No. 81.
Meanwhile, Walgreens continues to ascend the chart, rising 8-5 with 34,081 spot detections. This after it made a 51-8 move the week of April 4-10. It’s the first time Walgreens ranked in the top five since the week of Oct. 21-27, 2019, when it finished at No. 3. However, the pharmacy chain has been in the top 10 four times so far this year.
For the week of April 11-17, 2022, the top ten on the Media Monitors tally are Indeed at 1, iHeartRadio at 2, GetUpside at 3, ZipRecruiter at 4, Walgreens at 5, Grainger at 6, Swiffer at 7, DQ Dairy Queen at 8, Babbel at 9 and AutoZone at 10.
