Comedy consistently ranks at or near the top whenever a ranking of the biggest show genres is released. Looking to capitalize on that demand, iHeartMedia has announced a new slate of comedy podcasts with hosts including Rosie O’Donnell, Jason Alexander, Eric Andre and Amber Ruffin as well as a rewatch series for the hit television show “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” The roster will also feature several new podcasts from Will Ferrell’s Big Money Players Network. iHeart is also teaming with Comedy Central for a limited-run series.
“We are thrilled to share the newest slate of iHeartPodcasts, hosted by some of comedy’s biggest icons and hilarious new voices,” said Will Pearson, President of iHeartPodcasts. “We are so proud of the success our company has seen in the comedy podcast space and cannot wait to bring audiences even more laughs with these comedians in the coming months,” he said in the announcement.
The slate of new iHeart comedy podcasts includes—
Jordan Klepper Fingers the Conspiracy. The Daily Show personality launched his new podcast earlier this month in a partnership with Comedy Central and iHeart. The six-episode limited-run series features Klepper encountering some of the more imaginative, conspiratorial minds America has to offer.
Man Thinkers. The just-launched show from iHeartMedia and Will Ferrell’s Big Money Players Network is hosted by George Kareman and Dan Klein and promises “tough conversations” about topics the mainstream media won’t touch.
The History Of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Set to launch in January, this show is a rewatch of the TV series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Cast members Jeff Garlin and Susie Essman will host the podcast and they will be joined by the show’s cast, crew and super fans to break down every episode to date of the infamous HBO program.
Onward with Rosie O’Donnell. The one-time daytime TV talk show host, actress and comedian is making her move into audio. Set to launch in February, O’Donnell’s podcast will share her take on fame, family and fun from her vantage point at age 60.
Really? No, Really? Actor Jason Alexander, best known for his role on the iconic TV series “Seinfeld,” will partner with his best friend Peter Tilden on a weekly show set to debut in February. They will be joined by experts, newsmakers and celebrities in an attempt to find answers to the things that make people go…"Really? No, Really?” Listeners will be able to suggest topics as the two hosts search for the answers to life’s most baffling, intriguing, confusing and annoying questions.
The Amber and Lacey Show or Lacey and Amber Show. The name of the show is still being worked out, including whose name goes first. Set to launch next year, the podcast will pair late night comedian Amber Ruffin (Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Amber Ruffin Show) and her sister Lacey Lamar. The comedy podcast from iHeart and Will Ferrell’s Big Money Players Network will feature celebrity guests, comedic games and a huge dose of sibling rivalry.
Bombing with Eric Andre. Coming to iHeartMedia and Will Ferrell’s Big Money Players Network next spring, Bombing with Eric Andre will be an interview show featuring comedians, musicians, and artists sharing their best stories of bombing on stage in front of a live audience and more outlandish comedy premises in Andre's signature style.
The slate of new comedy series joins iHeart’s roster of original shows that has grown to more than 750 podcasts including some comedy stalwarts such as The Ron Burgundy Podcast, Fake Doctors, Real Friends, and Las Culturistas, among others.
