The pandemic brought a screeching halt to LiveOne’s live events and it has been slow to return to the business as things have returned to normal. A step in that direction will come next month when PodcastOne’s Adam Carolla hosts his first live event in three years. Entitled “Adam Carolla & Friends,” the pay-per-view event will stream live on June 4 from the Belly Up Tavern outside of San Diego and will feature Carolla alongside comedians Brad Williams and Kimbles Hume for 90 minutes of cutting edge comedy.
The last time Carolla hosted a similar event in May 2020, the live-stream had 1.1 million views. The Memorial Day weekend event in Houston came just weeks after LiveOne announced it was buying PodcastOne in an $18.1 million all-stock deal.
“Very few comedians are as entertaining in an intimate club environment as Adam,” said Kit Gray, President of PodcastOne. “Each show he performs is unique and tailored and to be able to bring this to a worldwide audience exemplifies how we’re able to create opportunities for our podcast hosts outside of the traditional audio driven mediums.”
Ticket buyers will have tiered purchase options to choose from starting at $10, including live stream access, a limited window rewatch period, on demand access to a second show from the same evening, exclusive limited edition merchandise and a VIP live virtual greenroom meet-and-greet session with Carolla priced at $125.
“I am delighted that LiveOne and PodcastOne have created this new PPV opportunity for Adam Carolla Podcast fans to enjoy an evening of comedy with me,” said Carolla in a statement.
Since 2009, the five-days-a-week The Adam Carolla Show has had millions of listeners, becoming what PodcsatOne says is the number one daily-downloaded podcast in the world.
